Memorial Day Fun!

Our Memorial Day weekend was a fun one, filled with danger, family, friends, food and even some relaxation...

Sunday we had plans to meet up with my good friend Hilary. Hilary was a bit late for our plans due to an escaped calf running around in her yard (but thats a whole other story!). So we headed out for dinner at Taffy's. On our way we drove past the South Gate Plaza where there was a carnival going on. After stuffing our selves to the brim with great food and milkshakes we drove back and checked out the carnival. We got some tickets and rode on the big slide and the merry go round. Then we got to watch the fireworks while we stood in line for the Ferris Wheel. Now for the "danger". So I get on the wheel with the kids and the attendant sends us up to the top and lets people on, this was all swell except for 2 things... we were swinging and it was starting to lightning in the distance! Well Mr. Attendant wasn't paying attention and let more people on and then continued it send the ride round and round, Until one of the other Carnies came and told him about the lightning!!!!! So you would think lady with baby and toddler would be let off first, but no he let everyone off before us and in the midst of it all parked us on the top again!!!! So once we got on the ground in "safety", we all walked over and played the game where you squirt the water into the clowns mouth and pop a balloon. Well the first round we lost. But then the second time the game was completely filled with people and I won!!! So we got to pick a big prize, which happened to be a dinosaur. I turn around to give it to Giulianna and realize its pouring! Which was bad enough til I realized I left the moon roof on Mom's truck open! OOPS!!!! We were all soaked upon returning home!

Then on Monday Papa and the kids and I went to Uncle Donald's for a visit and cookout. It was a very nice time with the family and all the kids got to play. The odd thing was that after we were there about an hour the whole neighborhood lost power. It was out for a long time and still out when we left. But here are some pictures of that day as well!

We had to eat the Ice Cream bars since the power was out and they were defrosting in the freezer! Thank God we had Rhyon around to help!
