Pumpkins and Pastimes...

The last week has been pretty busy, mostly with the everyday grind kinda stuff. Thursday the men came and picked up my extra furniture. I thought it would be kinda a big deal for them since the large couch was upstairs. Our stairs our kinda hard to navigate even with a laundry basket because they wrap around in about a half spiral. Well I was watching the two little kids that morning because the big girls had school, and I figured putting a video on for them would keep them out of the way of the movers. Well by the time I got the TV on and video started the men had the couch entirely out of the house. It was crazy!!!!

Friday, Laurie and I packed up all four kids in her van and drove to post because we had to fill out paperwork to withdraw the girls from dance class. The main reason for this was that its was really at a bad time and made for a really long day for the girls. Other reasons included the upcoming life change of Laurie's baby entering the world and the effectiveness of the teacher. We are hoping we can get them into another class sometime after the new year. Anyway while on post we ran a few other errands and had lunch. It was a chaotic morning, but we did get stuff accomplished. That evening we were supposed to have dinner at the restaurant the rug guy owns, but that didn't work out.

Saturday, I got to have some very awesome Mommy time. Laurie and I left the kids with their Dads and went to post to check out the Chosun Gift Shop. The shop is run by the Armed Forces Spouses Club, and has items from neighboring countries. Last week they got a new shipment of stuff from Taiwan and a few weeks before that Bali, just as examples. We met up with Christina there. I bought a few things and some Christmas gifts. After shopping we went to lunch. We decided to venture off post since Christina's husband doesn't like to eat off post. We found this really great Korean place. I had what was called a seafood pancake. It was awesome. It was just really nice to have a chance to get out and chat with out kids around. Later that night Mike and the kids and I went to the rug man's restaurant. Its called Alsaba, and was really good. One of the courses was like a chicken in a creamy curry sauce. Rhyon loved it! He inhaled every little bit.

Sunday was a relaxing kind of day. I taught my religion class in the morning and then we headed to church. After church we headed for home, but got a little lost. Mike decided to go home a little different way than he normally does which really was no big deal except that I knew better where to go than he did and he didn't listen to me. So because I said "I think" you need to go that way he went the other way. We ended up going over one of the bridges to the other side of the river. Ok no big deal we will get on the next bridge and head back, right? Yes if we had been in the right lane and not the left. So we missed that one and ended up somewhere off the highway. After a while we saw a sign in English for another bridge. So we got on it, and manged to get back to our side of the river. Then we had to figure out how to get back to Hannam. Thankfully there is Seoul Tower which we were able to use as a guide for general direction. Then every once in a while there was a sign in English that said Hannamdong. After driving around Seoul for about 40 mins we made it home! It was actually kinda fun!!!! And oh what an ADVENTURE!!!!

Later that afternoon we decided to carve our pumpkins. I carved a polar bear scene and Mike help Giulianna with a Cat with Bat wings. Rhyon liked looking in the pumpkins and banging on them but did not like touching the goo inside. It was pretty funny. We made a pretty good mess overall but had a good time. I have some pictures of that to share....

PAT PAT PAT on the Pumpkin!
What's in there?
He found out this wasn't so yummy!
Family Pumpkin Carving!
Me and Giulianna with our pumpkins
Rhyon liked them when they were all done and lit up!
I have been told that our last crate of stuff will be delivered Wednesday, so that is exciting. This week will be Giulianna's last week of dance class for a while, which is good. This week also marks the last week of my online class for teaching religious education, I am very happy to be done with this! This weekend there is a bunch of Halloween stuff going on so I should have a lot of pictures next post. I will leave you now with one last picture of Rhyon that I took tonight. We had pizza for dinner and before I could cut it up for him he dug in! It was so cute watching him try and get the piece in his mouth! Enjoy!!!!
